A nice glass of Liberty Ale. This is one to enjoy.

Anchor Brewing first brewed Liberty Ale on April 18, 1975 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Paul Revere’s historic ride.  And today, I am drinking Liberty Ale to celebrate my love for beer. Yeah, that was stupid. Oh, well.

Liberty Ale, when poured has a large head that is white in color and foamy in texture. It took a few minutes for it to dissipate and stuck around forming a thin layer that stayed until the end. The body color has a copper tinge and it also has a slight haze to it.

The aroma of Liberty Ale has citrus and pine from the hops and I also get biscuit notes from the malt.  There is also a yeasty characteristic that comes through.

The taste of this brew has that of citrus and grass upfront, a slight malty sweetness and finishes dry and clean with a pleasant bitterness from the hops. Even though Liberty Ale is dry hopped, isn’t an overly hoppy beer.  You definitely taste the hops but they aren’t overpowering.

Liberty Ale from Anchor Brewing Co. is one that I will make sure that I have and enjoy again.

ABV = 5.9%
