India Pale Ale – Southern Tier Brewing Co.

Souther Tier - IPA

A nice summer IPA.

India pale ales seem to be popular now. Everyone is making an India pale ale. Most of the time it seems that they are hopped up to the point where the hop experience is too intense.  The India pale ale from the Southern Tier Brewing Company out of Lakewood New York is a nice change.

As you can see from the photo, the beer has a nice head size. It is white in color, is foamy and it does dissipate quickly.

This is an IPA that has the hoppy, citrus aroma that washes over you.  When you take that first sip, you get slight grapefruit notes so it is not too over-powering.  This beer has a some-what creamy mouthfeel and an average finish.  I like it because it is not an in-your-face IPA. This is an IPA that you can have a couple of and not have your palate assaulted. This is an IPA that you can enjoy in the summer.  I would definetly have this beer again.

ABV = 7.3%
