S’more Stout – Base Camp Brewing Company

There is nothing more enjoyable in the cold months than sipping on a stout.  But, of course it needs to be a good one.  Base Camp Brewing Company has a stout named S'more Stout, that just may be the stout we're looking for. S'more Stout pours with an nice black  body color and settles with a medium size head that has a medium brown color.  The head is fizzy in texture and the carbonation is soft in it's rate.  The head dissipates quickly and leaves a fair amount of lacing.   The aroma of S'more Stout is composed of chocolate and coffee that is inviting.  Taking that first sip I get chocolate then coffee notes.  This is a malt forward beer that also has a hint of smoke in the background on the finish.  The alcohol is detectable but controlled and does not overpower the brew.  The hops balance out the beer and keep it from being too sweet. S'more Stout is a fine example of the style and one that you should try. It can be enjoyed anytime - cold months or warm months - but either way it will be enjoyed. ABV = 7.7%
