Pale Wheat Ale – Southern Tier

Pale Wheat Ale

Southern Tier - Pale Wheat Ale

I was drinking this beer with my good friend Ken.  A fellow homebrewer that always enjoys drinking a nice beer at those times during the weekend where you’ve finished some yard work and you need to cap it off with a nice beer and enjoy each sip.  Nothing like enjoying a beer with a great friend. We split this beer so that’s why the picture only has half a beer.

This bottle of beer was very nice. When pouring into a pint, the head size was small with a white color and fizzy consistency. As I drank it, the head dissipated quickly and left a little lacing behind. The carbonation was soft with a clear body clarity and a nice yellow/gold color.

The aroma of this beer is subtle.  This was more of a malty beer with grassy/grain notes on the nose.  The mouthfeel is watery, but when incorporating the head in your sip, it adds a nice creamy experience to it. There is barely hop aroma to it, but that is not bad.  It is a crisp, clean beer that is easily a session beer.  You could have three to four beers of this Pale Wheat Ale and not get bored with it. It is truly enjoyable. This is a session beer that you will enjoy.  The Southern Tier Brewing Company is located in Lakewood, New York.

If you have a chance to try this beer, I would recommend it.  Better yet, try it with a friend.  You both will enjoy it.

ABV= 5.8%

  • This is the most informative beer site that i have ever seen. Your comments and history of beer have been most informative. I believe you are the professor of all things beer and should push for beer 101 to be taught in our pathetic public schools. At least they will learn 1 thing that they can use in the real world. Keep up the great work Doctor beer and let the force be with you.
