Saison De Dottignies – Brouwerij De Ranke

Bottle shops are a great way to try different beers.  Saison De Dottigner from Brouwerij De Ranke is a beer  that I purchased at one visit with my good friend and fellow beer nerd, Mike. Cheers, Mike! Saison De Dottignies has a hazy body clarity, as it is an unfiltered beer.  It has an orange body color and the head is off-white, foamy in texture and of average size.  As the beer sits, the head dissipates to form a thin layer that stays until the last sip. Unpasturized and unfiltered. A wonderful tasting beer with the gold label. The aroma is a light bready malt, nice pear notes and earthy yeast.  This saison has a nice spice from the hops with a pleasant bitterness.  There is also an earthy flavor from the yeast and a dry white wine finish that is clean and satisfying. This is a very good beer that I enjoyed drinking.  If you ever have the opportunity to purchase a bottle or two, do it.  You will be happy that you did. ABV = 5.5%
