10 is perfection, and is almost unattainable. Anything below a 6 is undrinkable.
Winter Warmers are a nice way to enjoy the cold weather. Old Jubilation Ale from Avery Brewing is a beer that I looked forward to sampling.
When poured, the head size is small, fizzy in texture and light brown in color. The carbonation is soft and the body color is a nice brown hue.
The aroma of Old Jubilation Ale has slight pine from the hops and dark cherry notes. When taking that first sip, my taste buds are hit with layers of flavor. I pick up toffee, dark candied fruit, caramel ,roasted flavors and a malty sweetness. This is a very malt forward beer and has the medium-bodied mouthfeel that reminds you that this is about the malt. There is an alcohol presence that is noticeable but it provides a pleasing warmth when drinking. On the finish, there is a nice hop bitterness.
Old Jubilation is a very good beer and one that I will be having again.
