Malt, malt, malt!!!
Malt. One of the key ingredients of beer. But who usually gets the recognition? Hops. Many brewers make some hoppy beers that are great. But every now and then you need a change and a turn towards the malt. Brawler from Yards Brewing Company is a beer that is malt through and through.
The body clarity is dark, a nice brown/black color. The head size is average, foamy with an off-white color. The carbonation is soft and the head lacing is fair.
The aroma has hints of barley, cereal and biscuit with toasted notes. The taste is a nice refreshing malty goodness that hits you on the front of your tongue. It has a nice creamy mouthfeel and has an average finish length. But the finish is malty and enjoyable. It is a nice winter beer as it is slightly heavy, but is good for all seasons.
Brawler is a great beer and a nice change from the hoppy beers that are out there.
