Let me just start out by saying that the Flying Fish Brewing Company is quickly becoming a favorite in my house. They create some very good beer. One of those brews is their Abbey Dubbel.
This beer has a nice dark ruby color. I poured the beer too slowly and it resulted in creating no head on it. Operator error. The aroma of this beer has a sweetness to it that has hints of fruit and is very enjoyable smell. I just sat there smelling it a couple of times in anticipation of tasting it.
The first sip of this brew has a nice malty character that has caramel flavor and some dried fruit notes. You really can pick up the raisin flavor just as the notes on the bottle suggest. This is an easy drinking beer to have. It is not overly sweet and is very refreshing. The beers from Flying Fish are ones to check out. So far I have not been disappointed.
