Spencer Trappist Ale – Spencer Brewery

On one of my trips to the bottle shop with follow beer geek, Mike we picked up two bottles of Spencer Trappist Ale from the Spencer Brewery. The guy at the store recommended this one to try. Poured in the glass the body color is orange, has a hazy clarity with medium carbonation.  The head is white in color, large and has a foamy texture. This Trappist Ale has a floral aroma along with that of biscuit malt, clove and an enjoyable yeasty note.  The flavors that I perceive are fruity esters, a feint biscuit malt followed with clove, a hop spice and a nice dry  finish.    Spencer Trappist Ale is a very good beer and a good representation of the trappist style.  On the label there is written a nice saying, "Pair with Family and Friends."  I thoroughly enjoyed this beer and I will make it a point to have it again.  Although next time I may have to purchase a six-pack. ABV = 6.5%
