Lot No. 3 India Pale Ale – Evolution Craft Brewing

Lot No. 3

Lot No. 3 India Pale Ale. What a beautiful picture of a beer with the sun shining through.

Evolution Craft Brewing has an India Pale Ale called Lot No. 3.  Sounds intriguing.  It’s time to taste!

As I poured this IPA into the glass, this incredible head formed that was white in color, foamy and was two fingers high.  The head dissipated slowly throughout the tasting. The carbonation of the brew was soft.  The body color was a nice amber color and there was a haze to the IPA.  Looking at the picture to the left with the sun shining through the beer is just beautiful.  (Click on the picture for a closer look.)

The aroma of Lot No. 3 has strong pine and citrus notes.  The hops come through strong but there is a malt layer that reveals that the IPA that you are about to taste is going to be an experience.

Upon taking the first sip, there is a strong hop flavor — citrus, grapefruit and pine all at once.  Along with these hop flavors there is a toasted and caramel presence that comes through from the malt that balances the flavor of this India Pale Ale.  I do have to say that as I sip on this beer and I let it sit on my tongue, I pick up a slight smokey taste from the malts.  It is feint, but it is there.IMG_1357

I enjoyed drinking this beer from Evolution Craft Brewing. Lot No. 3 India Pale Ale is a crafted brew that I would love to enjoy again.
