Joe Coffee Porter – Philadelphia Brewing Company

Joe Coffee Porter
A cup of Joe?  How about a pint of Joe -- Joe Coffee Porter is another fine brew crafted from Philadelphia Brewing Company. This beer has a nice large head that is light brown in color and fizzy in texture. It has a nice black color and soft carbonation. Joe Coffee Porter has a pleasant coffee aroma along with some chocolate behind it. No hop aroma here and shouldn't, because the roasted malts and coffee are what this brew is about.  On the initial taste, there is a slight sweetness provided by the malts, followed by great coffee taste and slight bitterness from the hops.  The dark roasted malts also lend a chocolate flavor that is present in every sip.  The finish really has the coffee notes that linger on your palate in a good way.  This is a medium bodied beer that is surprisingly refreshing.  Coffee is represented well in this porter and is on the main stage. I can actually have a couple Joe's and not feel full. This is a porter for all seasons and maybe for anytime of the day.  I still have a couple in the fridge.  Maybe I will have to switch a Joe Coffee Porter in place of the morning coffee? Now that would surely start the day off right! Cheers! ABV = 5.0%
