A nice glass of Extra Special Ale from Yards Brewing Company
Yards Brewing Company is one of my favorite brewers in the Philadelphia area. And the Extra Special Ale is one that I enjoy drinking.
This beer has a large foamy head that has a light brown color. The head dissipates slowly and leaves a slight lacing on the glass. The carbonation has a nice medium rate to it. The clarity is clear and the color is a nice amber.
This Extra Special Ale has a fragrant spicy hop aroma and a malty hint. The first sip of this ale there are notes of caramel, toasted malt and dark fruit. The sip is followed by a nice hop bitterness and spice that rounds the beer out. This brew also a nice malty medium bodied mouth-feel.
I enjoy drinking this beer and this is one I get when I purchase in the Yards variety case. Extra Special Ale is just another reason to try the beers from Yards.
