10 is perfection, and is almost unattainable. Anything below a 6 is undrinkable.
Porters are a flavorful style of beer. IPA’s showcase the hop, while porters can showcase the malt side of brew. Edmund Fitzgerald crafted by Great Lakes Brewing Company is a flavorful porter that delivers.
Poured in the glass, this beer has an average head size, about an inch or so. It has a light brown color, foamy in texture and dissipates slowly ending in a thin layer on the top of the beer.
Edmund Fitzgerald has coffee and chocolate aromas right upfront that are pleasant and inviting. It asks you to take a sip. So I did. I am rewarded with coffee and bitter chocolate flavors. There are also roasted malt and wisps of espresso. The beer also has a nice amount of carbonation.
Edmund Fitzgerald is a flavorful beer that I will definitely purchase again.
