Dead Reckoning Porter – Troegs

The brewers at Troegs always have quality beer flowing from their brewery. This review is on their porter, Dead Reckoning. In the glass, Dead Reckoning has a black body color.  It has a soft carbonation, a large head with a medium brown color that is foamy in appearance.  The head dissipated slowly thought the tasting.   There are aromas of roasted malt, coffee and cola. There is also a slight hop aroma that I didn't expect.  The taste has coffee, roasted notes, bitter baker's chocolate and a piney flavor from the hops that a took me by surprise.  Dead Reckoning Porter is a flavorful porter that has just a little more hops than you would expect.  However, that is what may set this brew apart from other porters. ABV = 5.8%
