The review for today is the Colonial Cream and Brown Ale by John Henry. This is a beer that is aged on brandy oak spirals which adds a nice flavor profile to this ale.
This blended ale has foamy head that is light brown in color. It dissipates slowly and leaves a nice lacing behind on the glass. The body color is brown and the carbonation is light.
The aroma has a candied fruit, toasted malt and vanilla. The taste has a sweetness to it that also has caramel, oak, an alcohol background and vanilla on the finish. As I stated before, the brandy oak spirals add the oak/vanilla flavors that complement this brew. This beer has a nice buttery mouthfeel, also. The Colonial Cream and Brown Ale goes down smooth and is a great beer to sip on. It was very enjoyable and I would purchase another bottle.
ABV = 9.3%
It taste even better with a friend.
